Dressing Room Dramas: Pink and Ruffled, 2002

listen to the sound

This installation referenced a dressing room, incorporating elements of furniture like a vanity dresser and a mirror. Certain ceramic pieces looked like dresses but the sleeves or skirt were transformed into speakers. The sounds were a little girl's voice, a female adult’s voice, and a nursery rhyme.

This installation was exhibited first at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery at Stony Brook University. It was then later reconfigured and included as a special project space at Art Chicago 2003 with Zolla/Lieberman Gallery.
