Tales: Dressing Room Soft Voices
|
Soft Voices, ceramic, sound and wood, 2001 This piece was a little girl’s bedroom, which contained a bed, rocking chair, and three ceramic megaphones. A soft gurgling of constant sound, ranging from melodic to overwhelming and cacophonous continually emanated from the ceramic speakers. Each megaphone on the floor was intended to resemble a toy or bizarre doll, which didn’t stop repeating a phrase. In addition, each megaphone voiced a phrase that related to its physical form. Sculptures from this installation were exhibited at the ATC Space in Chicago, IL.
